Finance Analysis

Financing Analysis encompasses the economic evaluation of capital investment and cash flow funding options for public infrastructure projects, including reliance on public funding (tax revenues), user fees (tolls, fares), value capture options and public private partnerships (P3). It addresses the feasibility of project funding and is an important consideration for decision-making, complementing the efficiency consideration of cost-benefit analysis (CBA) and the strategic goal achievement consideration in economic impact analysis (EIA).

EDG has been at the forefront of efforts to assess opportunities for these funding sources, as part of the "business case" for proposed projects.

EDG works with regional transportation agencies across the Europe on studies regarding needs and plans for infrastructure investment. A key element of these studies is an assessment of the practical feasibility and financial adequacy of drawing on available and innovative revenue sources.
